Pathways
Every day we write an interactive Morning Message. One day students had to make a tally mark under Yes or No if they had the letter Mm in their name. Another day they had to generate rhyming words. We continued working on the letter of the week (Mm) and words that start with that sound. Journals were introduced and students wrote words & drew pictures that began with Mm. Friday we made a craft in our journals! |
We finished up Topic 1 (numbers 1-5). Students were instructed on how to properly use dry erase boards and learned an easy "Roll the Dice" game to play at their table.
We read Monster Knows I'm Sorry, No, David!, David Goes to School, and David Gets in Trouble and discussed ways the main character was being a bucket dipper.
The Make a Deal Mat was introduced and students practiced how to talk out their problems. Our pretend conversations sounded like this:
"I didn't like it when you pushed me in line."
"I'm sorry. Next time I will say 'excuse me.' Do you accept my apology?"
"Yes"
We will continue working on cvc words for a while with our Draw and Label lessons. This week we read What is a Map? & drew a map, The Gingerbread Man & drew a man, and Pip Squeak & drew a mop.
This week's special friends included Emma, John David, Mia, and Coltton!
