THANK YOU for all the snack and writing center donations!!!
Students have settled into the routine of school and learning is in full swing! We started writing last week, and students had a great time sharing their writing pieces. Congratulations to these students who filled their behavior chart & had lunch with me! We finished our All About Me bags last week. Everyone's names are on the Word Wall! We are digging deep in understanding letters & numbers during our math and reading blocks. Students are starting to put sounds together to read words!
THANK YOU for all the snack and writing center donations!!!

During our pathways reading block, we reviewed the letter Mm and introduced Nn. We will do one letter a week, focusing on what the letter looks like, what sound it makes, and things that begin with that sound. On Friday, we made a craft with that letter sound (mouse & night).
We've started practicing what it looks like to go to centers. Students are partnered up with one friend and rotate centers. I will begin meeting with students soon during this center time. Right now, we are learning how to solve problems and work together without needing my help.
We have a 20 minute reading block in the morning when we spend time reviewing the rules, creating ways to solve problems, and regulating our emotions. We've read some great stories, such as Chester the Brave, The Juice Box Bully, and When Mouse was Mad. We turn and talk to our neighbor about different parts of the story and ways they think the character can fix the issue.
During our writing block, we introduced what different stages of writing looks like and played letter recognition Bingo.
We are still getting to know all the students in our classroom. A star student is introduced every day and they tell us about themselves and show what is in their All About Me bag.
In math, we continued reviewing numbers 0-10. We want to dig deep in understanding what those numbers mean and the symbol to use to represent how many.
On Thursdays, we have a 25 minute block of time to visit the computer lab. Students are learning to navigate my website.
