Congratulations to several students who earned their new medal! Keep up the hard work!
This week in math, we have been focusing on shapes. This week we are just focusing on 2 dimensional shapes and next week we will get into 3 dimensional shapes. We are really working on covering the bases of sides and corners of different shapes.
In pathways, we have been continuing to work in our vowel town packets. We spent the beginning of the week reviewing the EE sound and playing games on the Teamboard to reinforce the skill. The students started learning about the -H brothers. The brothers are: sh, ch, th and wh. These brothers will help the students with their spelling and writing.
For writing, we have been learning about the difference between opinion statements and informative statements. The students have been writing opinion sentences about different items they prefer. For example, the students picked which animal they preferred between a giraffe and a tiger. Then, they wrote a sentence telling why they liked that animal better. We practiced this target this week and next week will focus on informative writing.
We had a huge turn out for our grandparents breakfast! Thank you to all the grandparents who visited our classroom!
