This week in math we reviewed our subtraction skills and also introduced subitizing (pronounced [soo-bi-tahyz]). Subitizing is instantly knowing how many objects there are without having to individually count each one. Below I have provided a link to help your student practice at home.

For this activity, give your students a piece of paper and a pencil. Start with the single dice and click to roll it. Give your student five seconds to look at the image and then cover up the screen so they cannot see it anymore. Have them write the number of dots they saw on their paper. Once they seem comfortable with one dice, try using two (up to 12 objects!). We have practiced up to ten objects during our math time.
Wednesday- 100th day of school
Thursday- P.E.
Friday- Library Day
Have a great weekend!
